Will This Affect Future Children?

July 1, 2012 in egg donor blog by Kate

I’m 20 and I have a 2-year-old and I wanna be an egg donor to help people have kids of their own and I wanted to know if it would risk my having my own children again later in life?

While I’m not a doctor, I can say with a pretty great degree of certainty that being an egg donor does not affect your fertility in any way.  Every month you have eggs.  Every month you have a period and there go your eggs…until next month, when you’ll have another period and so on and so forth.  As a multiple-time donor, I have to trust that every doctor I’ve worked with isn’t lying to me when they assure me my fertility isn’t affected.  I trust they have my best interest at heart, and I don’t feel it’s worth having reservations about.
