Thoughts on Egg Freezing?

What are your personal thoughts on egg freezing as a new ART for mothers to conceive? Recently, the technique for egg freezing has improved dramatically so that donors don’t necessarily have to get matched to a couple before they start donating their eggs – they can just donate whenever they have the free time and never find out whether a couple has conceived a baby with their eggs. Do you personally think it takes away from the experience that donors seek out in egg donation or is it a good thing to be able to produce babies without as many timing issues in respect to the recipient and the donor? Would you have opted to do egg freezing had it been an option for your donation cycles?
To be honest, I don’t have thoughts on the matter. But since you asked…. Two of my cycles were frozen, but knowing or not knowing that information changed nothing about how I felt regarding either one. I will say, however–and , again, since you asked–that donating eggs blindly and with no desitnation in mind seems dangerous to me, personally, and without the human quotient, egg donation seems ironically counterproductive. But, again, it’s not something about which I’ve ever given a second thought.
