I Want to Donate, But….

I’m looking into being an egg donor. After watching a family friend’s struggle with infertility I realized how much I took my own (potential) fertility for granted and I now want to give other couples a chance. Also, the financial compensation would help offset my university debt.
As far as being a donor, if have a couple questions. I only have one ovary (one was removed when I was a baby due to a hernia). I have heard of some agencies accepting people with my situation. However, do you think that I would be less favorable because of this? Do you think I would produce less eggs?
Also, do you think if I become a regular donor and complete 6 cycles, that I would experience early menopause?
I am going to be very short and sweet about this: I do not think you will have much luck finding and agency that will accept you with one ovary. If there is an agency that can see past this occupational handicap, I’m not sure what the angle would be, so I can’t speak to it. Unfortunately, I’m not sure this is the path for you.
